Cleansing The Lotud World “Mamahui Pogun”

The Kadazandusun community is considered and believed to be a native of the state.
Sabah a long time ago (Dayu Sansalu, 2008:28-29) has long practiced culture preserving the environment. This society translates the preservation of the environment through their belief is animism.

The son of the Kadazandusuns since childhood has been Educated informally about the belief of animism that is the belief in external powers common ones possessed by plants, rivers, seas, mountains, caves, banirs, trees, stones, land and animals named waiters. They are taught that this nature is inhabited by various spirit and subtle creatures of good and evil. These delicate spirits and creatures roam and wait for the right time to influence humans by causing disease, misfortune, calamity or otherwise. Such teachings help the Kadazandusun community not to arbitrarily harm nature due to obedience to the beliefs of animism. In order to open a new land, take the contents of the river, sea, forest and the like, rituals involving the recitation of rinait (mantra) should be held.
The wait for all the contents of the universe (supernatural) must be wooed, flattered, adored and even served with food and splashes of blood so as not to disturb and destroy man.

Among the beliefs and practices of the Kadazandusun community in preserving the environment are the practice of patod, mamahui pogun, mongulat and monutud do tumo, mangalit, bombon or tagal, momirot, and mononduk.
